  • 2 cups quick-cook grits
  • 8 oz smoked Gouda cheese (shredded)
  • 8 oz sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup Half & Half
  • 4 beaten eggs
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

Instructions

  1. In a heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat, bring chicken broth and minced garlic to a boil.
  2. Gradually whisk in the quick-cook grits, then reduce heat and simmer until thickened, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
  3. Stir in the smoked Gouda and sharp cheddar until melted, followed by the butter until combined.
  4. In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together Half & Half, eggs, salt, and pepper before folding into the grits mixture.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown on top.
