Ingredients
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups quick-cook grits
- 8 oz smoked Gouda cheese (shredded)
- 8 oz sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup Half & Half
- 4 beaten eggs
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
Instructions
- In a heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat, bring chicken broth and minced garlic to a boil.
- Gradually whisk in the quick-cook grits, then reduce heat and simmer until thickened, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Stir in the smoked Gouda and sharp cheddar until melted, followed by the butter until combined.
- In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together Half & Half, eggs, salt, and pepper before folding into the grits mixture.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown on top.
