  • 1/4 cup freeze-dried blueberry powder
  • 1 teaspoon blueberry emulsion or extract

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, mix sugar, melted butter, buttermilk, egg, sour cream, and vanilla until combined.
  3. Fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients; gently add frozen blueberries. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  4. Heat neutral oil in a Dutch oven to 355°F (175°C). Prepare a wire rack over paper towels.
