Ingredients
- 530g all-purpose flour
- 2 ¼ tsp instant yeast
- 50g granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 240g whole milk
- 85g unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 tsp salt
- 300g blueberries (fresh or frozen)
- 50g granulated sugar (for filling)
- 1 ½ tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tsp lemon zest
- ¾ tsp ground cinnamon
- 113g cream cheese (softened)
- 30g unsalted butter (softened)
- 180g confectioners’ sugar
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt (for frosting)
- 2 tbsp blueberry filling (reserved)
Instructions
- Warm the milk and mix it with yeast and sugar. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, eggs, and the milk mixture until a dough forms. Knead in softened butter for about 10 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1–1.5 hours until doubled in size.
- Prepare the blueberry filling by cooking blueberries with sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, and cinnamon until thickened—then cool.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread cooled filling, roll tightly, and cut into equal portions.
- Arrange rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise again for about 30–45 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 25–28 minutes until golden brown.
- For frosting, beat cream cheese with butter, then add confectioners’ sugar and reserved blueberry filling.
- Frost rolls after cooling slightly.
