Ingredients
- 6 medium apples (washed and sliced)
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- ½ cup water
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon cold unsalted butter
- Optional toppings: chopped nuts, dark chocolate chips (with oil)
Instructions
- Wash and slice the apples into even pieces.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and water; stir until dissolved. Boil without stirring until golden brown (about 10 minutes).
- Remove from heat; carefully stir in salt and heavy cream until smooth. Then mix in butter.
- Dip apple slices into warm caramel sauce; place on a parchment-lined baking sheet to cool.
- Optionally, sprinkle with nuts or drizzle melted chocolate before serving.
