- 3/4 cup melted butter
- 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole-rolled old-fashioned oats
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 35 caramel squares
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with aluminum foil, lightly spraying the foil.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Stir in flour, oats, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- Spread half of the mixture evenly in the pan and bake for 10 minutes.
- In another bowl, melt caramel squares with heavy cream in the microwave or saucepan until smooth.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over the baked base, pour warm caramel on top, then crumble remaining oat mixture over everything.
- Bake for an additional 15-18 minutes until edges are golden and center is bubbling.
- Cool completely before slicing into bars.
