  • 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole-rolled old-fashioned oats
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 35 caramel squares
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with aluminum foil, lightly spraying the foil.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Stir in flour, oats, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  3. Spread half of the mixture evenly in the pan and bake for 10 minutes.
  4. In another bowl, melt caramel squares with heavy cream in the microwave or saucepan until smooth.
  5. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the baked base, pour warm caramel on top, then crumble remaining oat mixture over everything.
  6. Bake for an additional 15-18 minutes until edges are golden and center is bubbling.
  7. Cool completely before slicing into bars.
