Ingredients
- 1 head of cauliflower
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 small onion
- 2 tablespoons plain flour
- 1 cup milk
- 6 ounces cheddar cheese (shredded)
- Black pepper
- Ground nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Boil water in a large pot and cook the cauliflower pieces until tender (5-7 minutes). Drain and set aside.
- In the same pot, melt butter over medium heat; sauté diced onion until translucent. Stir in flour for 1 minute.
- Gradually add milk while whisking until thickened. Mix in half of the cheddar cheese along with black pepper and nutmeg.
- In a baking dish, layer cooked cauliflower followed by the cheese sauce. Top with remaining cheddar cheese.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
