Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 slices of chicken ham
- 4 slices of Swiss cheese
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Pound chicken breasts to ¼ inch thickness using a meat mallet. Layer each breast with a slice of chicken ham and Swiss cheese. Roll tightly and secure with toothpicks.
- Mix flour with salt and pepper in a bowl. Dredge each roll in the seasoned flour, dip in beaten eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat. Sear each roll for about 2–3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Transfer the rolls to a baking dish and bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- For the sauce, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat; whisk in flour, then gradually add milk while stirring until thickened. Stir in Dijon mustard and Parmesan cheese; season to taste.
- Remove toothpicks from the rolls, slice them into rounds, and drizzle generously with cream sauce.
