- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 large ripe bananas (mashed)
- 1/4 cup salted butter (melted)
- 1/3 cup applesauce
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper and grease it.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth. Mix in the melted butter and applesauce until combined. Then add the brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined; small lumps are okay.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
