- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 ¼ cups whole milk
- 1 large egg (room temperature)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- ¼ cup unsalted butter (melted) for topping
- ½ cup granulated sugar for topping
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon for topping
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8½ x 4½-inch loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined; avoid overmixing.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few crumbs.
- Allow to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to parchment paper.
- While warm, brush with melted butter and sprinkle with a mixture of sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
