- 2 large chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 tablespoons butter (divided)
- 8 ounces cremini mushrooms (sliced)
- ½ cup white apple vinegar
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt & pepper (to taste)
- Flour (for dredging)
Instructions
- Cut the chicken breasts in half lengthwise to create four thinner pieces, season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then dredge lightly in flour.
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter. Sear the chicken until golden brown on both sides (4-5 minutes per side). Remove from skillet.
- Add remaining butter to the skillet along with sliced mushrooms and Italian seasoning. Cook until mushrooms release moisture (5-6 minutes).
- Stir in minced garlic and cook until fragrant (about 1 minute). Add white apple vinegar and reduce for 2-3 minutes.
- Pour in heavy cream, mix well, then return seared chicken to the skillet and cook for an additional 5 minutes until fully cooked through.
