- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 clove garlic (minced)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 brioche buns (split)
- 4 cups chopped romaine lettuce
- 1/2 cup shaved Parmesan cheese
- Optional: Tomato slices
Instructions
- Marinate chicken in buttermilk, hot sauce, salt, and pepper for at least 30 minutes.
- Mix flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne in a shallow dish.
- Dredge marinated chicken in the flour mixture until well coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C) and fry the chicken for about 6–8 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Prepare dressing by whisking together mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce (or substitute), and black pepper.
- Assemble the sandwich by spreading dressing on toasted buns, adding lettuce and fried chicken, then topping with shaved Parmesan.
