- 1/4 cup warm water (60 ml)
- 1/4 cup honey (60 ml)
- 1/4 cup melted butter (60 ml)
- 3 cups all-purpose flour (375 g)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine rolled oats and warm milk; let sit for 10 minutes.
- Dissolve yeast in warm water with honey; let sit until bubbly (5-10 minutes).
- Mix softened oats, melted butter, and honey into the yeast mixture.
- Gradually add flour, cinnamon, and salt until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in an oiled bowl; cover and let rise until doubled (1-1.5 hours).
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a log; place in a greased loaf pan and let rise again (30-40 minutes).
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool on a wire rack before slicing.
