- 1 loaf Pasquier Sliced Brioche (17.6 ounces)
- 4 tablespoons melted butter
- 4 eggs
- 2 1/4 cups milk (2% or whole)
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon zest
- 2 cups assorted fresh berries
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F and prepare a baking sheet with cubed brioche.
- Toast the bread cubes in the oven until lightly golden.
- In a large bowl, mix the toasted bread with melted butter.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, salt, and lemon zest until smooth.
- Lightly coat an 8×8 inch baking dish with butter.
- Layer half of the brioche in the dish followed by half of the berries; repeat with remaining bread and berries.
- Pour the custard mixture over the layers, pressing down gently to ensure everything is submerged.
- Bake uncovered for about 45-50 minutes until golden brown; allow to cool for at least 20 minutes before serving.
