- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ teaspoons salt
- ½ teaspoon instant yeast
- 1 ¾ cups warm water (about 110°F)
- 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped (or 1 tablespoon dried)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Optional: ½ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, instant yeast, rosemary, minced garlic, and optional black pepper.
- Stir in the warm water and olive oil until a sticky dough forms.
- Cover and let the dough rise for 12-18 hours at room temperature until doubled in size.
- Lightly flour a surface and gently shape the dough into a round loaf.
- Place the shaped dough on floured parchment paper and let it rest for another 30-45 minutes while preheating your oven to 450°F (230°C) with the Dutch oven inside.
- Transfer the dough (on parchment) into the hot Dutch oven, cover it with a lid, and bake for about 30 minutes.
- Remove the lid and continue baking for an additional 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool on a wire rack for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
