Ingredients
- 12 oz steak (ribeye, sirloin, or filet mignon), cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 8 oz shell pasta
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Reserved pasta water, as needed
- Optional: 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Cook the shell pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, drain, and set aside.
- Pat the steak bites dry and season generously with salt and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak bites for about 2-3 minutes on each side until browned. Transfer to a plate and cover loosely with foil.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add unsalted butter and minced garlic; sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer before whisking in Parmesan cheese until melted.
- Toss the cooked pasta with the sauce, adding reserved pasta water as needed for consistency.
- Serve the pasta topped with steak bites and garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
