- 1 sheet of store-bought puff pastry
- 4 oz cream cheese (or dairy-free alternative)
- 2 tbsp white sugar (or powdered sugar)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup diced strawberries
- 1 large egg (for egg wash)
- Optional: red food coloring
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, blend cream cheese, white sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Fold in diced strawberries.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into heart shapes.
- Place half of the hearts on the baking sheet and add filling on each one. Top with another heart shape and seal edges.
- Brush the tops with an egg wash for a golden finish.
- Bake for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
