- 3 cups strawberry pie filling (about 1½ cans)
- 8 ounces whipped topping (thawed)
- 2 cups fresh strawberries (sliced)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven according to the cake mix package instructions.
- Prepare the cake in a 9×13-inch pan as directed on the package and let it cool completely.
- Use a thin wooden spoon handle to poke holes in the cooled cake.
- Spread the strawberry pie filling evenly over the surface and press gently to allow it to seep into the holes.
- Spread whipped topping over the entire cake and refrigerate for at least one hour before serving.
- Top with sliced strawberries just before serving.
