Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast
- 12 oz uncooked chow mein noodles
- 2 cups cabbage
- 1 large carrot (julienned)
- 1/2 batch green onions
- 2 garlic cloves
- 4 Tbsp oyster sauce (or substitute)
- 3 Tbsp low sodium soy sauce
- 3 Tbsp light sesame oil
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 Tbsp corn starch
- 1 Tbsp granulated sugar
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together oyster sauce, granulated sugar, sesame oil, soy sauce, chicken broth, and cornstarch. Set aside.
- Cook chow mein noodles according to package instructions, drain and rinse with cold water. Set aside.
- Heat a wok or large frying pan over medium heat with oil. Cut chicken into bite-sized strips and cook until golden brown. Remove from the pan.
- In the same pan, sauté julienned carrots, chopped cabbage, and pressed garlic until vegetables are slightly softened.
- Return cooked chicken and noodles to the pan; pour the prepared sauce over everything and stir well to combine. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until heated through.
- Serve hot garnished with chopped green onions.
