  4. Stir in minced garlic and halved tomatoes; cook until tomatoes burst and garlic is fragrant (3–4 minutes).
  5. Combine cooked pasta with the sausage mixture in the skillet. Toss gently, adding reserved pasta water as needed.
  6. Season with salt, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese and top with fresh basil before serving.
