- 1/2 cup cold whole milk
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1/2 cup bittersweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds (toasted)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Prepare the dough by mixing flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in a bowl. Cut in the cold butter until crumbly. Gradually add milk and water until combined; knead lightly.
- Chill the dough wrapped in plastic for at least 30 minutes.
- Roll out the chilled dough into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick. Fold into thirds, rotate, and repeat this process twice more.
- Cut the dough into triangles; place chocolate chips and toasted almonds at the wide end and roll tightly toward the point.
- Proof on a lined baking sheet for about 30 minutes until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Brush croissants with egg wash and bake for about 18 minutes until golden brown.
