- 3 tablespoons miso paste (white or red)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- Optional: chili flakes for added heat
Instructions
- Clean mushrooms gently with a damp cloth to remove dirt without rinsing.
- Slice the mushrooms into uniform pieces for even cooking.
- Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
- Sauté minced garlic and grated ginger in the skillet for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add sliced mushrooms and cook for 5-7 minutes until tender.
- In a small bowl, mix miso paste and soy sauce with warm water until smooth.
- Pour the miso sauce over mushrooms and stir to combine; cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Adjust seasoning if necessary; add chili flakes for heat if desired.
- Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving warm.
