Scale
  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 head broccoli, cut into florets
  • 1 red chili pepper, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and stir-fry for about 3-5 minutes until browned. Remove from the wok and set aside.
  2. In the same wok, sauté the chopped onion for 3-4 minutes until softened. Add minced garlic and grated ginger; cook for an additional minute.
  3. Stir in the red bell pepper and broccoli florets; stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until tender-crisp. If desired, add finely chopped chili pepper during the last minute.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and optional red pepper flakes.
  5. Return the cooked beef to the wok and pour in the sauce mixture. Stir everything together to combine well; cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  6. Serve over bowls of cooked rice with optional garnishes like sesame seeds or chopped green onions.
