- 1 generous cup chopped peeled apple
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
- Optional: coarse sugar for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In one bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, maple syrup, and applesauce until smooth.
- In another bowl, combine oats, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla essence, and salt.
- Mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until well combined. Fold in chopped apples.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish and sprinkle with coarse sugar if desired.
- Bake for 28 minutes or until golden brown.
