- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter (cold, cubed)
- 1 cup whole milk (warm)
- 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Combine flour, sugar, and salt in a stand mixer bowl. Add cold butter and mix until crumbly.
- In another bowl, whisk together warm milk, yeast, and eggs. Gradually combine with dry ingredients until mixed.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl and cover.
- Refrigerate the dough for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Roll out chilled dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick; cut into triangles.
- Place chocolate chips at the base of each triangle, then roll up towards the tip.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange croissants on parchment-lined baking sheets and brush with egg wash.
- Bake for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
