- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 1 cup fresh strawberries (hulled and quartered)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and sugar.
- Cut the cold butter into small cubes and work it into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse meal.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and heavy cream; incorporate this mixture into the dry ingredients until just moistened.
- Gently fold in the quartered strawberries.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and shape it into an 8-inch circle; cut into eight wedges.
- Place the wedges on the prepared baking sheet, brush with an egg wash (beaten egg mixed with water), and sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake for about 18 minutes until lightly golden brown; cool slightly before serving warm.
